cracking noise coming from dash
I have a 2006 S60 2.5T. I've noticed a near-continuous "crackle" noise coming from the center dash panel (the stereo/AC area). I hear it when I hit bumps, when I press the excellerator, and when when I press the brake pedal (it actually makes the cracking noise right when I hit the gas and right when I hit the brake). Has anyone else noticed this on their S60? If so, do you know if it can be fixed? It's extremely annoying and I'm dissappointed to have this kind of a dash noise on a $30k plus car.
Build quality has been going down ever since Ford took over. It's just like what GM did to Saab. But hey, in a capitalist society those with the most money always win, not those with the best products, and there's nothing the supposedly "free" market can do about it.
The plastic in my car always creeks and eeks when Im going over bumps. Its just the plastic they used. I found it very annoying so I put some tape in between certain joints to stop it. This may be your problem idk. For example when I push on the penholder in front of the gear shifter it eeks and creaks just by my pressing hard on it. I don't want to hate on volvos because I like mine just in the two years I've had one I haven't been that impressed, I've noticed a LOT of noises but then again I did buy it used so who knows.
