I have a 2000 C70 with about 10K miles on it and all works fine except fora somewhat irritating whining noise coming from the rear, which is why I'm assuming it's the fuel pump. The noise is both the loudest and most constant when the car is idling or rolling with no pressure on the gas pedal. It seems to lighten up a bit when the gas pedal is depressed.

I would like to fix this issue if possible. Any ideas?

I would first verify 100% it is the fuel pump.
The pump assembly's are pretty expensive.
