Default Issues!!!

Ok, so I brought my 02 C70 coupe in today for the 45k service and a random check engine light(light would come on for a couple of days every other week), o, and also squeaking from under the hood like a bad belt. So, just got off the phone with service and i'm hella pissed!!

1) Check engine light caused from a faulty Evap valve and hose-considered part of the exhaust and therfore not covered under the expensive extended warranty i got from good ol' Volo! There are some parts associated with replacing this that are covered but not the more expensive ones of course!

2) The squeaking, i was right, it was a belt, and the cause, my power steering fluid reservoir is leaking onto the belt, yet another item not covered under the warranty.
Add this together with the 45k service and the Fuel injection service and i'm looking at around $1300!!! WTF?!?! I'm kind of pissed that the warranty doesn't cover more of this, when i was told it basically covers everything. I wont even tell you how much that warranty costs.

Well the power steering fluid reservoir might have broken for another reason, u'll luv this! I was driving home for work one night, on a dark road with no lights, going about 65-70, when i racoon ran out into the road, at that speed there was no way for me to miss him, so, BUDUMP BEDUMP. Actually went over pretty smoothly, but i also had the music up high so really coulnd't hear anything. Here I thought i would have to wash guts off my car, but was suprised to see not much happened. Only thing i saw was the bumper had come off a couple of clips, no biggie, but wait, what's that, or should i say, where the hell is my fog lamp? The little beast took my drivers side fog lamp with him! Bastard!
Well, he called with and estimate to do that work as well. They need to take the bumer off and re-align it and also, my wheel well is cracked. He said it is possile that the racoon could be the reason for the resevoir to crack as well. The little beast looked damn big, guess he was a 60 pounder!
Sorry to ramble on, but I'm pissed, as I'm sure most of you understand. Anyone else ever have problems with their power steering fluid resevoir? at 45k? and also the EVAP valve? Thanx for reading my rant! LOL

1.The evap system is part of the emmission system not the Exhaust system.

2.The power steering bottle is a common leak. Poor design.

Tell them no on the bumper to pop it back in unless it is hanging off the car.
The evap valve is common as well.
Better now than it used to be.

Ok, so at least I know they are common issues. The bumper is hanging off the car a bit The evap is considered normal wear and tear? I'm going to try and argue with Volvo warranty, especially since i purchased it in August and have yet to recieve anyhting in the mail about it.

The Evap valve is a Bad part that got out.
It used to get replaced under factory warranty all the time.
I used to do 4 to 5 a day.

The extended warranty seems to pay out about 50% of the time, from my experience. It has paid for itself and I would recommend that anyone who wants to keep their Volvo longer, buy the warranty. Allservice is very expensive. I know thisdoes'nt make you feel any better this time, but it should pay off in the long run.
