We keep getting "key error" try again message when trying to start our 2011 volvo c70 (key on dash not steering column). The error comes on as soon as the key is placed into the ignition. We have had this error occur with both key fobs. Both fobs have new batteries and the car battery is good. This does not happen all the time, the car usually starts after removing key and putting back into the ignition the second or third time when the error occurs. I Checked for any stored trouble codes with obd2 scanner (i do not have vida), there are no stored trouble codes.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

I am having the same problem, except on my '08 V70. I've tried changing the ignition switch as I've seen it may solve the problem but no luck. If you find any more on this I would love to know!
