Lights flashing and loss of power/speed????
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member here and have been very happy with my C70 T5 covertible for the last five years until now!!
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a problem where by the abs and handbrake warning light suddenly both illuminate simultaneously and then then the speedometer fails and registers no speed at all. Then the milometer completely fails and shows no mileage, followed by the engine managment light coming on and finally the transmission arrow starts to flash quickly whilst if i'm going slowly i can't gain any acceleration easily. Can anyone advise.....
Yours hopefully
Jay.

I have a C70 2000 convertable and i am having exactly the same problem... went to the dealer here in Dubai and he had no idea what was going on... he advised to change the ABS control Unit first then start checking the gear box sensor...
I was short on cash so I was afraid it will cost a fortune or the gear box is damaged so a couple more days and i will get to service... First change the ABS control unit and if the problem was still there then start working on the gear box ...
Any Advice any one because i think the dealer here is just guessing....
and based on trial and error F***ed up methods.... But still because the volvo market is too low here so no enough volvo experiened mechanics to have a second opinion on the problem...

You would have to find someone that has a Good OBDII reader.
When they go bad they throw perm. Fault codes saying the sensors are bad. If you have a OBDII reader that reads real time you can see the sensors working. Then you know the computer is fried.
I have had to replace about 300 or so of them in the last 6 or so years.
