Default Moisture on Oil Stick

I was checking the oils yesterday and found some yellow residue on the oil stick. It looks like water/moisture. My C70 has 2450 miles on it. I don't drive it much, six miles total a day to work and it sits around for the most part on the weekends. I have no perceivable coolant loss and the car runs great.

Could it be that because of my lack of driving, the moisture in the engine/oil is not evaporating? I'm taking it to the dealer on Saturday!

What you are describing generally occurs when the temperature drops. In the northern states it is quite common in the winter..................IF YOU DO NOT OPERATE YOUR AUTO SO AS TO GET THE OIL UP TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. So what you are experiencing is condensation. Your best option is to have the oil changed along with the filter and then drive your auto on the freeway to bring the temperature up and 'burn off' any moisture that is in the oil pan. In the future, you should drive your auto on the freeway at least once a week if during the remainder of the week your driving is only in the city.
