Default Oil leak - possible oil trap, but questions ...

I've got a 99 C70 with 125,000 miles.
I have always changed the oil regularly .. like 3 or 4,000 miles.

This past year, I started noticing oil collecting under the spark plug cover.
It seemed to be coming out of the oil cap seal.
I replaced the seal, but oil still found it's way through there.

I thought perhaps the PCV system was clogged, but there is no pressure coming out of the dipstick while running, no oil comes out of the dipstick, and I can blow compressed air through the dipstick and it easily comes out the oil cap hole.

So ... I decided not to worry about it and crammed 2 seals on the oil cap to try to keep the oil contained.

That was working alright, until I noticed about 1/2 quart of oil under the car several weeks later.
I cleaned it up and tried to find out where it was coming from.

It appears to be coming from just above the oil filter ... apparently the area where the oil trap is located. It's a bit hard to see clearly, but reading other posts indicate this is a good possibility.

However, if I can't confirm that the PCV system is clogged with the tests I mentioned, is it likely that the oil trap is dumping oil like this?

It doesn't drop a cup every time I stop anymore ... sometimes it doesn't leak, sometimes it's a few ounces. I don't want to blow any seals, though, so I'm thinking of replacing the whole PCV system anyway ... it's never been done.

I would change everything and check the small hose at the bango fitting that screws to the bottom side of the intake. It is behind the power steering pump.

Do you know if the intake tube / breather hose can simply be cleaned?
I was getting all the parts from groton, but they don't have a kit, and all the individual parts come to over $213.

Since the intake tube is $120 of this total, I am tempted to get all the other parts and just clean this out if it can be done.

Groton order page;

Schematic:
(part 8 is the $120 part I'm wondering if I can do without.)
