Hi Tech,

I have an 01 c70. My passenger side seat is stuck in the upright position. Someone was going in the back and moved the seat up, now the seat will not move back, its stuck all the way up and the back rest is up too. I checked the fuse, but the fuse is fine. Any ideas of how to get the seat back, or fix this problem? The electric foward and back doesnt seem to be working either. Is there another fuse under the seat?

Mine does that too, it's super annoying[>:]. Take it to a volvo mech. who can hook it up to the little diagnostic thing and reset it maybe. Or just try moving it again later, like the next day even. Mine geeks out but usually by the next morning it will let me move it again. Good luck, that drives me crazy....

 

Usually it is a plastic piece that breaks letting a spring go that goes to a bar pressing on a micro switch that makes the seat work.

 

yea sounds like it could be that becasue the lever feels very loose when you pull it up and down compared to the other side, almost like the cable broke. Any ideas how to get at that little plastic part? Or where it is located?

If the cable feels loose then one of the cables broke.
That is another common problem on these cars.

For that you will need to take the leather apart and replace the cable.

 

thanks TECH I was able to get the leather off the seat and indeed it was the cable that broke. I am going to order a replacement. Thanks for all the help!!!!
