..... When I reached into to see what the problem was the driver side hydraulic arm sheered off, bent, and caused the trunk to free fall onto my head- does anyone know anything or heard anything like this happening?

 

that is really strange, I havent heard of anything like that happeing. At what point did it break?

 

When I tried to close the trunk and it was locked or stuck upright I then bent down into the trunk and at that point it free fell onto my head that is all I remember and I do not even know how I got the thing off of me. Does this car have the heaviest trunk ever made on a vehicle?

 

sell the car, it sounds like its trying to kill you. Did you do anything to offend it in the last few weeks?

on a more serious note, do you have any pictures? and by free fall, did it try to close, or simple cave in from the upright position?

 

No I did nothing to the car- sadly I still love the car! I do think it is trying to kill me or eat me alive! I do not have any pictures right now. Free fall literally like a piano falling out of the sky onto my head. My husband later looked in and there is a part that has bent and the arm is stripped

 

well I dont really know what to tell ya, get it fixed for sure. Sorry that it happened to ya. **I would dirve your other car for awhile if I were you**

Might be possile to get one for cheaper at your local volvo junkyard
