Power Upgrade?
Hi all, I have recently purchased a 1999 UK Model c70 2.0 LPT. Whats the best way to extract more power from this model?
Is it possible to upgrade the turbo to a hp one?
Is it worth upgrading the ecu chip or re-maping?
What about upgrading the intercooler?
Can you adjust the boost on the standard turbo and will the engine need modifying to handle this?
How much can I expect to spend to achieve a noticable difference?
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

upgreading the ecu is the best way to go. it may be a bit pricey depending where you go for it but deff. worth it. the turbo upgrade will mean nothing unless you have the ecu upgraded because from what i hear you cant just put in a boost controler on these cars it has to be done threw the ecu. i would start with the exhaust intake and then the ecu> just my suggestion
Welcome tot he forum.
1. Yes it is possible to upgrade the turbo to HPT model turbo.
2. Yes this is the best bang for your buck is to upgrade your ECU.
3. Upgrading to a Front Mount Intercooler will benefit you very nicely.
4. Yes you can adjust the boost on your model as is. An ECU upgrade is the best way to do this. A Manual Boost Controller while they work are not the best idea to use. Also with 1999+ models at least in the U.S. they don't like MBC's. Some people have gotten them to work, but most do not.
-Turbo upgrade $600+
- ECU upgrade, $600+
- Intercooler, I'd say $500-$1000. It will have to be custom done.
Don't forget to do STAGE ZERO and get your car up to par before you go and upgrade things.
