Sunroof issue-not about rattling
I had the sunroof rattle issue, but had the rails replaced and the problem is over. Before i had the rails replaced i experienced an odd popping/gurgling sound when and right after it rained coming from the sunroof area. You can hear it mostly after i open the window while driving. I assumed that after the rails were replaced it would stop, but i was wrong. drove home to NY from ME on sunday and it was popping and gurgling the whole way home(rather anoying).
Any clue what this might be?
Thanx in advance!

Check and mention to your local dealer.
When they first came out there was a problem with them like you describe.
They would modify the sunroof drain to get rid of the noise.
They will use 2 peices of clear hose and a brass y connector to modify the drain.
There should be a tech note at the dealer about it.

It's me again! Alrighty, since I made this post they have done alot of work to the sunroof area. They have blown out the drains, but it has not helped the situation. I gave a copy of this post to my service guy and I just got off the phone with him and they said they can't find any reference to what you mentioned. They still have the car for some other things. Anyway, could give me a bit more guidence with this? They searched the service bulletins on the phone with me and came up wiith nothing. They best way to describe the noise would be, patting your hand on the bototm of a PVC pipe.
Thanx for the help Tech!

Not sure if I can still come up with something in writing. What they usually do is install 2 pieces of hose to the end of each drain by the botom of the windsheild then run them to a t then out somewhere I forget.
But if you stand back and look it will look like a Big Y
They end up routing it so that air won't get back up into the drain hoses.
I will try to find something in writting.
