Top Issues and Volvo Vida
So I was really hoping the vida would give me insight into whats wrong with my top. It says it is open all the time and calibration will not work as Hall Sensor 6 is passive. I looked and found Hall Sensor 6 and there is a hydraulic latch if you will that is clearly not in the locked position. That being said I have numerous diagrams and have followed the youtube video on how to manually open and close the top. Basically I used the Torx wrench on the motor in the trunk lid to open the latches. I then pulled the cord to release pressure on the hydraulic pump and moved the trunk into the full open position. I then unlocked the front of the car using the 6mm torx wrench and with two people I moved the top to the full open and then the full closed position. I then pushed the green button on the hydraulic pump to lock it and set the pump into ready mode? This is the part I am confused on am I missing something else like bleeding the lines to get the pump to work. The reason I say this is there are no errors for CRM nor for the motor but the motor is in the stopped position. When I try to pus the button to raise or lower the top the windows go down like they should but then nothing. Not really sure where to go as vida wont let me run configration becasue of the top not being locked and again I think he part thats not locked is not a hydraulic lock done by the trunk motor I think it is one that runs off the hydaulic pump itself. Is it easy to test a hydraulic pump for volts or something?
I have a 2009 C70 that had the dreaded "hanging" headliners. I opened the top to remove the headliners, and apparently left it open too long because now it will not move. I unplugged the CRM and replugged it in and still get the message "top unlocked". When I press the switch to close the top, I receive the error "top malfunction". I followed the steps to release the hydraulic pump (top is completely open) so I could move the top to the closed position. It does not seem to be releasing the pressure for the hydraulics. I am unable to make the sections move at all. It rains in Louisiana quite often......HELP!
you need to remove the liner of your trunk with the 4 torx screws. Once you do that you will see a space with a spring and three spots the middle is a green button that you will need to pull up if its not pulled up. Thats what pulling the cord is supposed to do but sometimes it gets stuck down. That being said I have pulled up the pin and pushed it back done and now my pump does not seem to be working to well. I am going to do a write up and try and explain everything I have been through. I will let you know when its done.
I finally got the hydraulic release to "release". We put a little mineral spirits around the release and it worked. The rear section was not propped up as it should have been, so now we are unable to move the top to close it. The middle section can not clear the rear section. Any suggestions? Supposed to rain here tomorrow.
Hey there Earl, I would love to hear what you found out. I have a feeling this car I've got now has similar issues (sensor 6 and the rear locks) pretty sure someone let it bleed down and bent stuff up really good and so sensor 6 isn't reading right. My plastic catches look deformed, too.
I'm about to pillage parts off another car, maybe the hudro pump too because I have no idea how long this one has been open, the release pin has some corrosion and does not move freely like yours. Bleeding the thing seems like a nightmare, but doesn't seem too dissimilar from mountain bike brakes...
