C70 top malfunction - sensor 6 and rear lock mechanical issues?
Hello!
I am trying to fix a 2010 C60 hardtop, I have no info on what lead to it being broken just the broken car, bummer!
Someone seems to have pulled the pressure release valve, manually raised the roof, and then unplugged the CRM to make it stop beeping. I've reversed most of that, got the CRM communicating and reset the hydraulic pump, but the top is still closed. I've got VIDA going through a knockoff dice tool and I can see everything going on electrically. I've found the PDF listing the top operating procedure as well, so I think I've got all the bases covered.
The top will immediately fault out when you try to do anything, and if you hold the override for a while it will unlock the trunk lid and stop there. It has thrown a catch motor blocked error, a sensor 7 timeout error, and a CRM fault error, but all seem to be working just fine. Somehow I managed to get VIDA to lock/unlock the trunk during a test via the catch motor blocked fault, and it works as expected. I have verified sensor 7 works by manually moving the catch motor via the allen key. sensor 10/trunk divider work as well.
What I do notice is sensor 6 is passive while it should be locked/active. I removed the headliner and have access to both associated cylinders and lock rods and I've located sensor 6 and verified it does work, but the problem is the lock rods are not extending far enough to engage the hall sensor, or much of the plastic receivers, either.

That is with the cylinder manually moved as far back as it will go, it's not engaging like it should I guess. It sure seems like the top is situated correctly, but I guess I can't be 100% sure. I am leaning towards these lock rods being bent somehow.
I've got a parts car I am going to take a look at to compare, but figured I would ask and see if anyone here has seen anything like this before, and hopefully they remember the fix!
Thanks!

I decided to just bend things and the top works again. I took the rear latches apart to check them out and they had dug into the roof panel really good, the three adjustable height bolts where the lock rod sits. I don't really know how, but I assume it's from sitting open too long or being too rough with the manual movement, scratches all over the top and trunk lid from something. Either way relaxing the angle of the bend in those rods makes them reach a little further which is enough to set sensor 6 active which stops all the really annoying beeping for the roof not being locked. The lock bar is on a pivot and the ball joint should flex enough to let things still move smoothly. I couldn't get the lock nut at the ball joint end loose, I scratched the body up really good trying, just in case you thought there might be some adjustability there!
Someone zip tied the trunk extension panel shut, took me longer than I care to admit to find that, after I cut those off it finally goes all the way up and down!
Now for the headliner...
