how to open trunk?

C70 2008 Trunk cannot be opened as the microswitch below trunk is broken, new back panel below trunk / repair part costs 690eur (+ painting needed) as there is no small microswitch separately sold for C70.
Any ideas how to repair switch?

Volvo service team was able to open the trunk once with their computer, but I cannot open it with remote or switch on back.

Hi I wonder if you can help me . I have a 2006 C70 . I've read about this switch behind the driver seat before and for the life of me can't find it . I've also read about a way to manually open the boot lid that's located in the little box with a lid in the middle console behind the gear stick and cup holder - again i can't see anything . I'm getting desperate now as the Auto electricians have already charged me £180 to diagnose a faulty micro switch ( caused by water) and have told me that volvo in sweden will only send the full boot lid mechanism at a cost of £500 as opposed to just the micro switch

My car cost me £2050 in total so I'm not paying that !

Any help would be greatly received .

 

My 2011 rear trunk lid can be opened with the metal key in the key fob. Below the front of the rear seat cushion close to the door there is a cutout about 1and 1/2 inches flap in the carpet on the verticle part. Pull up flap insert key and work carfully mine was very stif from lack of use. Hop this helps.
