hey guys ive got a c70 2000 and it seems 2 have every problem possible and more lol ive just had the ecm replaced it has the typical wind noise which i guess i need a new door/window seal for?. the drivers seat also doesnt lock in place without a large amount of persuation . but the main thing is when cornering and under hard braking from say 70mph the car feels really unsafe twitchy and does its own thing really!im not sure if this is a common thing or not?? ive got new tyres and had recent mot and tracking

 

Why not take it to the dealer, and pay for an hour or so of service time to get the technitions to make a detailed list of whats wrong with the car. I dont think any twiching is a common thing with any car from breaking going 70mph.

yeh i agree its not the norm to have a twitchy car volvo have had a look over it when i had the ecm done but they just said it had a warped brake disc im a mechanic myself just wanted to know if there was a particular fault it could be? the same with the wind noise really. cheers

 

So many want to shy away from a dealer but when you have issues that cannot be diagnosed, well sometimes spending a few dollars up front will get you headed in the right direction.

As to the wind noise, do you have a coupe or convertible? If it is a coupe the wind noise may be coming from the sun roof. I have a cure for that if that is where the noise is emmanating from.

Unless you have a good Volvo-specialist independent repair shop nearby, the dealership is a good place to go if the problem you have is likely to be model-specific, or at least brand-specific (as opposed to generic problems that any good mechanic should be able to trouble-shoo). This especially applies it is a typical problem area for your car model.

 

my nearest volvo dealer is fairly far away il have a look at the stabiliser bars ect and get the brake balance checked to hopefully its nothing to major! the volvo dealer did test it but i think he was abit lazy and didnt seem 2 check very well!it doesnt do it all the time thats why i find it odd. yeh its a coupe but without sunroof. i think wind noise on the doors is common but wasnt sure if a new seal is needed or whether the window is adjustable atal?
