Default Vac question

If you had a vaccum leak that was enough to cause loss of gas milage or throw CEL, would you be able to notice a change with the readings on a vac/boost guage?

Yes, the variance from stock boost levels would show , but it would not tell you where the leak or leaks are at. Your 2000 should under go a full stage 0 check. This would include inspecting all your vacuum lines, or as many would recommend just changing them out if they are original. Silicone vacuum hose is a popular replacement which I did on mine shortly after buying it.

You should be running 15-20 In Hg on your vac/boost gauge stock. So if it is lower then then 10 you got an issue.
