Red face 2022 XC60 Design Flaw

So I’m detailing my 2022 XC60 Recharge last week, when I notice quite a lot of dirt and grime in the door frame. I thought this was unusual so I decided to go to YouTube and check out whether other late model XC60 owners were encountering the same issue.
. Apparently this is an oversight on the part of Volvo to protect the inner part of the door that is exposed to the rotating wheel and debris. I ordered the part and installed as per the video, and problem resolved.

Nice catch, my '21 model is exactly the same there as yours. Do you remember what the 'Volvo' charge was?
Thx

@Cruiter 2 pieces (one for left and right fenders) were shipped in one box. Total cost was like $50 US.

I noticed the same a while ago just after I got the car. Here in Scotland I phoned my dealer gave him the part number and he recognized it straight away. We get a lot of salt and sand put on the roads in winter and this would certainly encourage rusting if it was not cleaned on a regular basis. Thanks for putting this up.

Default 2023 model may have resolved this

I ordered a 2023 XC60 Recharge today and looked at the rear door and wheel well to see if it had this problem. They have added a thick rubber gasket thing to the wheel well that looks to be trying to solve for this problem. I won't know until I take delivery at the end of this year. Anyone else with a 2023 model want to chime in?

Shelly

I have had my "next gen" Extended Range 2022 XC60 T8 for over two months now and about 2100 miles on the odometer, and I can't find any dirt getting inside the rear door...
