XC40 All windows down, feature or bug?
Once again this morning I stepped out the door to find all the windows of my XC40 down, and the vehicle filling with snow. I must say, I'm perplexed. Volvo usually seems to consider what they do, however with this feature, they've failed in so many ways.
First, has anyone found a way to disable the feature?
Second, has anyone received a satisfactory explanation from Volvo concerning its design?
Undoubtedly lowering windows may be valuable to some. However, it seems to me that lowering the via the app (rather than the key fob) would be the more desirable solution (so it can be done while say preparing to leave rather than when you're already heading out the door).
Regardless of how they're lowered, it would seem reasonable to consider lowered windows a security risk, so drivers should receive a notification similar to the vehicle being unlocked.
Finally, if it's to remain on the key fob, there should be a means to disable the feature.
And lest we wander, I'll address the same questions I see on other fora addressed to other drivers. I wear standard off the rack jeans, and don't put anything particularly unusual in my pockets. I have not yet put my key inside s rigid sleeve, though it appears that will be necessary as repeated dousings will no doubt damage the interior of the car.

I trust when this has happened the remote/s have been in range of the car.
Have you tried to roll the windows down with your remote/s in the position they are "parked" at night?
Our salesperson showed us that if you hold down the unlock key on the remote, it will open all of the windows. Conversely, if you hold down the lock key, it will raise all of the windows.
Had this feature on a previous vehicle and it was terrific when approaching a vehicle on a hot day to help it cool down before entering. Never had it so it on it's own, although the buttons were in a different position,
