Default Charging Cable Adapter

I set up my garage for my son's Tesla with a 240V/60A NEMA 14-50 receptacle. I now have a 2024 XC60 Recharge that I would like to charge. Is there an adapter that will convert the standard Volvo cable plug to a 14-50 receptacle? I've been searching, but no joy.

Thanks,
Bob

Default Charging Cable Adapter

PHEV's and EV's in general are new to me, so I was looking for some advice from the forum gurus on a more efficient way to charge my XC60 using the Hubbell NEMA 14-50 receptacle I already had in my garage. Nonetheless, I finally found the adapter I needed and I am now charging with 240V/20A: "AC Works Adapter Cord w/20A Breaker P/N S1450CB620." $61.99

Go to EBAY. Best price for the authentic Volvo short cord that you use on your polestar charger for the 14-50 plug.

Thanks for the info Teich. I'm happy with my $62 adapter; although, it charges at 20A.

Default Level II charging w/supplied Volvo 240 cord

For all of you that already have a 240v Nema 1450 receptacle in your garage, this can save you a lot of money in getting set-up to use your Volvo supplied Level II cord. I found this at my local Ace Hardware yesterday for less than $10. Just flip your breaker off 1st, then remove the Nema receptacle from the wall, and connect the wires to this one and replace it. Easy day installation w/o calling an electrician.
Hope it works for you.

I believe this one will work, I've been looking for something I could use when traveling.

If you have the Pure EV model of any car, then yes. Being able to use the Tesla chargers is an added advantage. Having owned three hybrids now and two prior PHEV models, I briefly (9 months) owned the Mustang Mach e GT, but found on trips the tradeoff for pure electric over the convenience of being able to drive 500 miles plus and then grab a 10-minute fill up and keep going was worth the small cost (relatively speaking) of another PHEV and traded for another XC60 T8. Just driving from Ga to North Carolina to visit my son and grandson I was adding one to two hours to my trip each way searching for a Walmart with EA chargers, and sometimes having to wait because some of them would not be operating and the remainder were under use. Getting 40 miles around town on an overnight home garage 'recharge', is a better choice for me. I understand it may not be the best for some others.
But I have no need for the Tesla or EA charging services anymore with my T8. The small additional cost of charging the batteries on the road while driving is much less than plugging into a commercial unit. And much quicker.

In addition to my other post, I found and ordered this one. It works great, see photos. I found it on Amazon for $20.99 including shipping. Works very well.
