Default Dash Cam Consideration

So, I'm driving along the NJ Turnpike and I notice a car behind me quickly approaching in the left lane (passing lane here in the US). I merge right in plenty of time, but the person cuts me off nearly hitting the driver's side wing. Lucky for me my reflexes are such that I was able to dodge and escape what would have been a nasty crash. This and other near misses got me wanting a dash cam. Been doing some research and came across the
FIXCAMX FIXCAMX
on Amazon. Unlike other dash cams out there, this one has an OEM look and uses the power supplied to the rear view mirror (i.e. easier installation than running wires along the A pillar). Before I pull the trigger though, just wondering if any of you have considered a dash cam solution for your Volvo? Thx.

I have had one for many years now, totally believe in the system. My current one is in the "Thinkware" brand. For a permanent install you should have the dealer or someone like Geek Squad do it for you. Mine was actually in my last car and as part of the deal, the Dealer ate the shop fee to transfer it. Now I know they did it right and wired it to a fuse. Thinkware gives excellent video quality regardless of night or day, can shoot bursts, single shots, or just run continously. When doing that, you can designate something like 'one minute' clips in case you need to find something by the 'time' it was shot. And you can sit in your car and download a clip to your phone if you need it. But there are a lot of good brands, pick well and consider a dealer install to protect your warranty. Mine can even have a rear camera integrated into it but I haven't done that 'YET'.
