Default New UX

Nobody has commented on the new UX software update. It was a pretty painless update, and I like it. Screens are cleaner and easier to navigate, especially settings I change regularly. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I also think it looks better, but a couple of things are really irking me:
- We can't customize the order of the Apps on the main home screen. This is something we used to be able to do. I don't care about half of the things that are in the top row and want to again be able to move my favorites up top.
- The big icons at the bottom of the screen need to be smarter to reflect what's actively running for a quick changeover. For example, if I'm running Google Maps, that icon should be visible in the bottom row of icons for a quick click. Now, I have to click to get to the home screen, then click the Maps icon. Not as safe or convenient as it could be.

Just my own pet peeve, but the Google Assistant icon should not take up permanent residence as the center big icon across the bottom. We can use the button on our steering wheel to issue commands, so don't force it on the display too in such a prominent spot.

Those are good observations. Seems a little better readability at the expense of flexibility. As to the Google assistant icon, it seems more like a paid placement thing. There is no reason for the icon even to exist. The system is designed to be hands free, and simply saying “Hey Google” allows you to issue commands, ask for information, etc. just as if you pushed the button.

I like the update on my XC90 but I have issues with recirculate air... keeps turning off after 20 minutes and bad smells come in. I think this was tested in a lab and not in the real world where we got garbage, old diesel, fires, sewage etc smells coming in. Do you have the same issue in the XC60? trying to see if the issue is across the board or if it is just us. Customer services says car is working as intended. In the previous software it would stay as I left it.

Thanks!

No, I haven't experienced this with the recirculated air. I love the Air Quality / Pollen Count feature though! Not sure if that was there before.

For me it was there before... The new update is more GUI cleanup I guess. And they broke the recirculate air of course.can't stand going to work in the mornings and then all of a sudden a whiff of sewage in the car. Give it a try when you can... the recirculate timer.... not the sewage
