Default Turtle mode and car stopping

I have a brand new (1 month old) XC90 recharge. Recently it stopped charging in the middle of a full charge and the next day the engine light came on. It happened again and the engine light and propulsion system service light came on. They told me I could drive it but all of a sudden the steering wheel shook and beeped. After the battery ran out and it kicked into gas the turtle light came on. It went from 45 to 35 to 15 10 and then just stopped. Luckily I was near a parking lot. Anyone have this happen? So scary!!

Turtle mode is the new limp mode in the new cars. Bring it to the dealer since it's still under warranty. Impossible to know what is wrong without a diagnostic.

I had this happen to me. When we bought our XC90 we were staying at our in-laws with ancient electrical system. The standard charger that comes with the car would flip on and off for whatever reason, causing a failure in the car which tripped the check engine light. I drove in electric only and when the battery drained all hell broke loose while driving at over 50 MPH like you experienced.

Of course when I had the dealer bring it in the car had "reset" itself and the dealer couldn't replicate the issue.

We moved into our new house with a good electrical system and haven't had the same issue.

Not a real answer, but hopefully it give you piece of mind that you didn't kill your car. Just need to get a better outlet maybe?

Same thing happened to us yesterday! Turtle mode on the freeway, stranded in 90 degree heat for two hours on the busy freeway while we waited for "roadside assistance." Car is three months old and we've had three instances of propulsion warning lights, one check engine light, and yesterday, several different messages:

No restart possible, service urgent, 12 v battery error, etc. Then the turtle mode and it died. In the shop now! Worried about the future!!!! Anyone else??
