XC60 V2.2 update in US
I can see on the UK website that the V2.2 was released on 06/20, with Apple CarPlay and more.

Is this also available in the US? If yes, when should we see it for download?
Thanks

It was apparently announced three days ago (Tuesday), but when my car was at the dealership two days ago (Wednesday), version 2.2 was not yet available. Somebody on another thread suggests it's several days from announcement until it's available to download, so perhaps next week. It sounds complicated to do the download (will be my first time), in that the car has to be on continuously for the hours-long download (as per the owner's manual for 2022.5 XC60 ER), and then there's a 45-minute installation after the download.

Yes can take a few days before its available to all. Its not at all complicated, when you open the door you see a message saying there is an update available and you get a choice of doing it immediately or holding it until a convenient time. Don't necessarily expect it to be there the next time you enter the car as mine disappeared for 2 days on version 2.1. Once the update appears again follow the instruction to accept and leave the car. It says it takes up to 90 minutes the last one only took 20 minutes and worked perfectly.

This software is getting on my nerves on a daily basis.
Few days ago, I got again the "Oops. Something went wrong" screen for the second time since February.
I do not know if this has anything to do with the latest update, but according to my understanding the 2.2 version is not an over the air update and I didn't get my car for service lately. So probably is irrelevant.
I deleted the app and reinstalled it. But I cannot register my car because the "pair a new device" option, as we all know, is still missing from the registration procedure. Also, the software keeps the smartphone device in the memory as a paired device, but at the same time they cannot be paired. And finally you can't delete it, because the only option to delete a paired device is through the app, which you cannot connect.
The option now, is to erase all factory data from the settings menu, to push it "forget" the paired device.
So all these are now well known procedures to me, since I have struggled a lot in the past doing that again and again.
The new info today is that the car denies to make a Factory reset and is not responding to the option. No matter how many times a pushed the button, I locked and unlocked the car. Start, stop, switch on and off, even changed the language (did that in the past and worked), there is no response.
So, once again I have the Smartest Dumbest Car ever.. and this is getting extremely annoying!
Any advises?

About to purchase a 2022 XC60 B6 AWD. Was told by dealership that the V2.2 software has already started to roll out for the Apple Car Play and everyone should have by the end of July. I called Volvo customer service and they said "we have no ETA, could be any day"
Does anyone with a 2022 XC60 have Apple Car Play yet? Does anyone have any reliable information on this?
Please advise as will depend whether we go through with the deal or not.
Thanks

I do confirm that Apple Car Play is installed to my XC60 T8 Extended Range, but I am in EU

So I guess that for now it runs as a secret version. Waiting to make some tests to some "lucky" ones and then release it to the public, based in the feedback they will receive from the "lab rats".
Unfortunately my smartphone is an Android so I cannot test and comment the performance of the Car Play app.
It has been discussed on Swedespeed that the EU (and other countries outside North America) have already gotten "early" version 2.2 updates, but there is a delay again in getting 2.2 into North American 2022 Volvos (and possibly also into UK 2022 Volvos). Somebody stated that this may be due to the units (i.e., metric vs. English/American units), but I'm not sure. The updated 2.2 notes say: "Note: This software version contains a late-detected error that may affect some vehicles. The side mirrors may automatically tilt downwards when selecting Reverse, in vehicles where the "mirror tilt in reverse" setting is set to OFF. ... Volvo is working on corrective actions with top priority and we apologies [sic] for the inconvenience."
So it seems best to wait several weeks (or even a couple of months) to get an updated/revised version of 2.2, rather than having it installed immediately.

USA owner of 2022 XC60 Recharge ER. I was having problems with Google Assistant not responding and had the local Volvo service shop look at it. They upgraded it to Version 2.2. No Carplay, unfortunately. Odd thing was, they said it was fixed, but on the way home, Google Assistant stopped responding again. I did a hard reboot of the infotainment system (hold down home button for >20 seconds), and everything came back to normal.
My car was one of the many that had several issues with Google infotainment and MyVolvo app. It was up to date with the latest 2.1 version. But because of the serious problems I visited the local Volvo service yesterday. Earlier today I picked up my cat and the 2.2 version was installed, even though it was not announced as an available version.

Volvo dealers have a high-speed hub they can 'plug' into and download stuff much faster than OTA (that's probably what happened with yours). I'm still waiting for my 2021 to get the download that includes the timer for charging. So far, it's picked up everything but that. Did your '22 have it?
I have heard that some Charging Plugs (maybe Volvo's Plug also) have a charging timer in their own Application.
But for sure a charging timer on MyVolvo App or Cars software would be also welcome.
I received the message for 2.2 upgrade today. No problem downloading and installation. Apple CarPlay app is there, it does require that you plug your phone in to use. Somewhat disappointed as I have the wireless charging pad and would think all the apps would also be wireless. Not sure I will use now. Have to purchase a cord before I can try out. I am in the US. The moment you are excited to find out that after all those months that you wait to get what you were promised before choosing to buy this car, the same moment this excitement changes to disappointment because on 2022 in a Premium SUV you need to use a cable for Apple CarPlay.
This software development team keeps having a below average performance!!!
I have found some information on using 2.2 Apple CarPlay after reading not sure I want to use. Sounds like you have to basically disconnect from the Google system and use a limited version of CarPlay, affecting navigation and internet is then run off your cell company's personal hotspot. Not sure what this does to the Google navigation that helps to use the PHEV more efficiently, I use this often and find it works really well.
I was hoping you would be able to tile back and forth, but based on theses article it does not read that way.

Has anyone else tried it out, any tips? I want to use it put am afraid to upset what seems to be a delicate system. Also do not want to constantly use my on personal hotspot my plan only gives me so much per month

Until now the performance of 2.2 is not something great.
1. When I start the car the infotainment system needs a couple of minutes to start.
Which is quite annoying if you need to use the 360o cameras to unpark the car.
2. When you charge the car, you cannot use the preheating or precooling function of the App.
You choose to start this function and you get a message "You cannot start the car, because the car is in use". But if you go to the timer feature and set a timer, then the function is working.
