2005 s40, trunk is fully closed and physh. locked......but the warning light in car dash is always on , saying that `trunk is opened`?......The latch assy has a electrical unit that operate a plunger to unlock the mechc. portion , that works fine.............but the open light always stays !!!

 

Does somebody no what could be faulty.......if the trunk is physc. locked but the warning light in dash is always on `trunk open` !!
