Default 02 S40 1.9T Burning oil at highway speeds, missing

Took a trip from Houston to Little Rock this weekend (8+ hours away), and noticed that at highway speeds, if you accelerate hard to pass or speed up after a work zone or something, the car sputters and misses as it accelerates, then a second later a puff of oil smoke comes out of the exhaust. Whatever it is, it's also leaking/spraying oil in the engine compartment, as you can see and smell the smoke whenever you come to a stop. It's not much oil, as after the whole 1000+ mile trip, it was barely missing any.

It doesn't seem to do this just driving around town, and there's no constant oil smoke coming from the exaust. I read on another forum that it's common for the turbo return line to leak on these...does that sound plausible in this case?

Check spark plugs and coils.

I've been meaning to change the plugs and coils. Could that make it burn oil though? I know it's leaking from somewhere because I can see it on the bottom of the engine.

I don't really think it is burning oil. I think what you see is it running rich when it misfires.
