03 S40 rear brake pad replacement
Feeling like a noob.
So I did the front pads with little difficulty. Now the rears... can't seem to get the piston pushed back in to allow for the much wider new pads.
I used a C-clamp on the fronts...piece of cake...can't seem to get the rear piston pushed back in.
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?[]

Well, I guess that makes me feel better about not being able to do this. However, the car is my wife's, and she probably won't keep the car THAT much longer. Where might I find such a "special tool" and in your opinion, is it worth picking one up if it's not going to get much use?
Anyone out there in Everett Washington willing to let me borrow one
I have the pads and the rotors are still in excellent shape. Doubt that a shop would be so kind as to install the pads for me. Kind of like bringing in your food to a restaurant and asking them to cook it for you

Update!
Sorry it took so long. Yeah, I found the little tool. It was a little tool alright[>:]
Found "a" tool. Probably wasn't the exact one, but there was one side that I managed to make work. After much patience and tenacity, the piston was pushed back and the new pads fit in nicely. I'm sure that if I had the exact right tool it would have been much easier, but I got it done.
Might add that I got the Mintex pads from IPD online. ALMOST NO DUST WHATSOEVER and they do an excellent job. The EPD pads I put on my Subaru totally suck. Been on for about a month and I'm ready to just get something different now, even though they are like new. Have never had to clean my wheels so much in my life!
This is my wife's second S40. The rear pads on her 2K S40 were gone in less than 20K miles. Current car is an 03. Got just over 40K on these. They weren't entirely gone, but it was time to replace them. Rotors are still in excellent shape.
