My engine has a knock im thinking of getting a donor engine. I cant find hardly any info on the specs if
the B5254T2 Lower end could replace my B5254T3. Is there a compression difference? The T2 is substantially cheaper and all I need is the lower end possibly. This weekend I will tear in to it

 

check out workshop-manuals.com for the XC90 (B5254T2) specs and for the S40 for the T3. From what I can tell, the T3 is based on the T2 but has differences in the crank and rods (differences in crank weight for balancing (newer mounts on the S40 means the crank could be lighter), stouter end cap/bolts for the rods on the T3). Not sure if that matters for your application - the bigger changes between the T2 and T3 was to the turbo design and the engine management system used.

 

Thanks for the reply and I don't think it would work due to the high pressure turbo and the compression maybe on the T2 bottom end if I read it right
