Recent issue cropping up with this vehicle is while driving red dash text : Brake failure, please stop safely. Brakes still work, can still stop, and all that fun jazz. Park and turn the car off however, can't start the car. Clearing the codes (unrelated O2 sensor codes cause I'm a terrible car parent) and the vehicle will start right back up. Sometimes I can drive it for 3 days before this happens again, sometimes 4 minutes. Any advice is most likely to be appreciated.

Things to check:
Brake pad thichness
Fluid level might be low
ABS sensor

 

does the brake warning go away on the restart? See if you can find a code reader that can present ABS codes - there should be something stored (separate from the P codes for engine/transmission)
