Default 1.9 or 2.0 cam gear indexing help

I have a 2000 S40 that burned a hole thru cylinder #3 exhaust valve seats and so I had to get another head to re-work. I need to know how to index the variable cam gear on the exhaust cam and gear on the intake cam. The exhaust cam I noticed is a conical mount and the new gear is loose on the cam so..... I have dial indicators and degree wheel ready to go but have never used a variable timming set-up so I'm not sure where to set the base index before I tighten down the gear on each cam. Also how many foot-pounds of torque on the exhaust gear bolt? Thanks

The center bolt is tightened to 90Nm. The 55 torx "plug" that screws in over the center bolt is tightened to 35Nm. Look to some other posts to see the procedure to "load" the VVT pulley correctly. Good luck.

there is a special way of setting up the cvvt, I seem many volvo tech have difficulty setting up but once u understand it they are not that bad. for a beginner, i suggest u get a proper procedure from vida before u attempt to try it yourself. incorrect installion could cause engine light or may be a bent valve.
