2000 1.9T Misfire/No start
Hello all, I have a 2000 s40 1.9T with about 145k on it. If the car has been sitting for more than 4 hours it takes about 5 or 6 tries to get it to fire up - then once it is running, it runs very rough and the check engine light flashes. It runs fine after a 20-30 seconds of idling/ reving the motor. I would assume this is because the ecu is adjusting for the misfiring cylinders. I dont have the check engine code handy but I know its always one code the description on my obdII reader is "multiple cylinder misfire". I have replaced the spark plug wires that run from the two ignition coils to the slave cylinders because I noticed some discoloration. I thought I would get some advice before I start replacing parts because the spark plug wires were almost 80$. im not sure where to start with this. I have never worked on 4 bangers, let alone a turbo foreign make lol - its a little intimidating. any suggestions are appreciated!

hey just went though the same thing its your fuel pressure regulater believe it or not when it sits for awhile loses fuel pressure sputters when you try to crank it which causes the knock sensor to throw amiss fire code. the fpr is on top the right hand side of the motor under a cover star head bolt and a phillips screw.cheapest i could find it for 193.00 simple fix but expensive.
