2000 S40 1.9T Dials....
Anyone know if the climate control fan and temperature dials are supposed to be lighted? I'm thinking yes because the air vent selector is lighted, but I want to make sure before I try to take it apart to replace the bulbs.

Yes there are three bulbs in the climate control head unit. You have to take the unit out of the dash to replace those bulbs. They cost about $10 each at Volvo. You can remove the climate control unit by following my directions in the following link:

Once the unit is out you will see the bulbs on the back of the unit. Those bulbs control all the lights in the unit including the buttons for the A/C and defrost. While you have everything apart put a new bulb in the hazard switch, trip computer (option), automatic transmission shifter position, winter shifter switch (the one with the "W" on it). All those bulbs are available from Radio Shack (part # 272-1092) except for the shifter light you will have to get that from the dealer (only about $2).
