2000 s40 1.9T - Valve Bender??
Anyone know (for sure) if a 2000 s40 1.9T is a 'valve bender' i.e. if the timing belt breaks are the valves in danger of being damaged?
I know some cars have this problem and some don't. A non-volvo mechanic told me this car is not a 'valve bender' but I'd like to get some other assurance of that. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Welcome leppy!
Replace that sucker every 100k miles or so even if it was a clearance engine. It will always break at the worst possible spot and time. Replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump while your in there.
