New to this forum - Is there a secret to getting the hazard switch out of a 2000 S40?? I have remove the 2 screws that hold the switch and vent assembly in but the "unit" will not slide out. Any help will be appreciated...........Thanx

 

I can't remember if the '03 and '00have the same dash but if they do you can try this. You are going to have remove the climate control cover by wiggling the cover away from the dash. Don't try to pull the ***** for the climate control off it's not necessary. There are four screws holding the climate control unit into the dash remove them. Once that is out you can reach up and wiggle the hazard switch out through the back of the dash. I wrote this up some months ago while replacing the center console lights.

 

They must have a different dash - I took out the radio and lowered the climate control unit and still cannot reach the switch. Any other suggestions would be appreciated......
