Hi i own a 2000 s40 and when i started it from cold I see that the RPM is little bit above 1K RPM. I think isn't normal, what can cause this?

Did it stay there even when it warmed up?

I would clean the throttle body and check the coolant temp sensor.

Already clean the throttle body , but the problem still. Maybe it's time to change the spark plugs.

When it is cold the idle will raise for about a minute or two then drop to normal.

You might also want to check fuel pressure and see if it drops all the way to Zero when shut off.
