Default 2000 Volvo S40 ignition canister coupler issues

Hello, does anyone another name for this part? I think a local shop may be giving confusing information.
If you are familiar with it, is it a fairly simple thing to replace?

Thanks, Liz

Do you have a picture? I ask because there isn't an ignition "canister". There is an ignition coil (2 total). And each one has a connector (coupler). I'm guessing you are talking about the coil connector because they do tend to get brittle and crack with age. On mine I made sure to push the individual female wire leads onto the male coil leads. Although the plastic housing the female leads (the coupler) tends to break you can still securely connect each individual wire without fear they will work loose. The tension on each wire is sufficient to hold the wire onto the coil.
