2001 Engine Protection Plate Fasteners
Thanks in advance for your help. The plastic engine protection plate under the front bumper has been shredded by too many encounters with parking blocks. I was looking at how to take it off and replace it. There are five bolts around the front edges, but then two strange looking connectors in the middle towards the back. They have flat heads and a washer under them. Could they be some kind of rivet? Do I just pop them out? I presume this would break both of them. What would I use to replace them?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
It's a plastic rivet type thing. Pull the center section out while holding the larger part. If it breaks you can find many similar type plastic rivets or plastic trim holders at any auto parts store. If close enough is no good then I'd suggest either the dealer or maybe online at places like this: VOLVO S40 BODY MOULDINGS EXTERNAL 2000-2012 at Swedish Auto Parts
