Hi again I am still struggling with this S40 Here is a picture of the reason I cannot pass NJ inspection..... this is a 2001 and Volvo said just to look at it , it will cost minimum of $600.
Damm Please any help would be greatly appreciated I say it is Climate control Module.
the inspection says Comprehensive control module. HELP>>>>>>....................................... I put a different climate control module used in still the error. and there are no DTC codes as you can see.
Nothing in the The Climate control module should have anything to do with emissions. So CCM - does not mean climate control. Once again - there are no codes shown on your screen. You are looking at the status monitor screen. Get your scan tool owners manual and figure out what button to push to retrieve the codes. Or go borrow a code reader at your local auto parts store.
Then post the codes because nobody will have a clue what code you are trying to fix - until you have a code!
let me say this again I have no DTC codes and I have done the Volvo drive cycles more that 20 times and a 8 components are green except for the CCM which is still red and flashing.. Today I believe I found out that it is the Traction Control Light is on ( possibly the issue ), and this maybe the issue I am having with the comprehensive control monitor in the car and it will not pass inspection with this CCM flashing red all others are green . Here is the picture of the reader. I need to get the CCM to turn Green as to pass NJ inspection...... I hope I made this clear and am correct in what I am thinking. Again there are not codes in the system. this reader cheches all the 8 components to see if they are ready to get the car NJ inspection.
Cool - he didn't happen to push the "erase codes" button, then drive the car for a few minutes to see what comes back? Did he check with his scan tool which portions of the E test were not ready? Or give an opinion as to why the ccm in your scan tool stays red? Have you actually gone and had your car tested?
The codes in your Climate module have nothing to do with emissions - they will not prevent your car from passing emissions. Same with the alarm code, and the abs code.
The ECM 91 - torque reduction - might have a effect on emissions - I'm not familiar with that one.
Yes he did erase all the codes.. After that I did the Volvo drive 6 mins 5mins 4mins and and went green except the CCM again. then on thbe way back when I started to drive the car shuttered and check engine and the sliding car warning lite up again. Again I did the Volvo dance and when I got home EVAP and CCM stayed on but I am sure the EVAP will clear today. dammit this car
Well guess what I had my 2001 S40 1.9 turbo inspected yesterday. ordered a MAS and a brake light switch as per the tech said brake light switch. well Yesterday I still had CCM red on the tester. I got under the dash and what I thought was the BLS was in fact the cruise control turn off switch. I unhooked the wires to it and pulled off the vacuum hose connected to it blew it out
and plugged back in. So I figured another day I would find the brake switch...As I mentioned before I drive with the reader connected,, after about 5 minuets I reached down to reset it and HOLY CRAP all was green ,,,,,,, I drove straight to the garage where I have been working on the car and said please check it now and do not turn off the car.. low and behold It passed inspection...,.
