2001 S40 Center Dash Cover Removal
Hi all,
I would like to remove the front cover off the center console of my dash (actually just the panel where you find the 3 ***** for them fan, temp and vent position controls). There is creaking noise from behind the cover and it's driving me crazy
Does someone have a diagram/know the steps?
Thanks very much
Anthony

I think it differs a little if you have automatic climate control or manual climate control. I have automatic and here is how I get it off:
There are small openings with 3 horizontal slots on each side of the panel. The panel is clipped in with a plastic clip in the bottom most slot on both sides. Shove a small flat head screw driver straight in it to lift the plastic tabs and then use a 3rd screwdriver to carefully pry the panel out from the side. To reinstall just push it in.
The panel above (with the vents) and the panel below (cupholder etc) have screws holding it in behind the climate control panel.
