Default 2001 S40 Dashboard removal

Trying to get to the heater core in my 2001 S40. What is the best way to get to it? How should I remove the dashboard?

Thanks

#1- Tools needed: a good assortment of phillips screwdrivers. Long, medium, short. 10mm socket on a impact if available, and a good bone tool (and as always a pocket stick)

#2- Remove in order (this is how I do it): Center console, Radio/Climate control panel, Hazard switch with vents, glove box, speaker panels on top of dash, lower dash panels (at feet), info display surround and display, side panels of dash (at door), (lower the steering column, no need to remove wheel), then dash.

10mm bolts hold dash in (4 on sides at door, 2 in hole from speaker panel on top, a few in radio/climate hole, 2 (i think) in speedo display hole) There are probably more at the passenger airbag aswell once the glove box is out. you will have to decide on your own if you want to bring the dash harness out with the dash or leave it in. I generally leave it in but a few coworkers like to bring it out with the dash.

Quick explaination, not a necessarily easy task, once you get the dash out it does not get simpler, you will need to evacuate the a/c and drain the coolant when removing the 3 peice air distribution box. this job is no joke, so make sure you keep track of your bolts and where everything goes.

GOOD LUCK.
