2001 S40 Low Beams Dead
Both low beam bulbs are dead. No matter what position the switch is in the running lights stay on and the green LED is lit. Vadis has a service bulletin that statesI need a new resistive cable installed. Has this ever been covered in a recall or will I have to pay for this? I have never altered the headlights in any way except new Silverstar Bulbs.
Also some of the other lights on the interior have burned out and the cig lighter socket is dead ( i replaced the fuse but it is still not working).
What happened to this car?
Opinions?

RE: 2001 S40 Low Beams Dead
Someone suggested replacing the bulbs.
I have not yet because if the CEM is damaged it may cause premature failure of the bulbs again (the bulbs that are in there are less than a year old) and I don't have the money to replace the bulbs every couple of weeks. Also would that actually trip the car so the headlight switch would work again?
I was hoping someone with a tech background would chime in on maybe if it is the CEM or not and how to test it so or how the dealership will test it and how long that takes so I don't get burned at the dealership (I do buy parts from salvage yards but not electronics that have been sittin there without any protection and rainwater just pourin all over em)
And does anybody have any idea on how to deal with the dealership and not have to come out of my packet since there is a service bulletin for part of the problem (the wiring)
