My 2001 S40 started hesitating this past weekend. It would happen at random times and sometimes be a quick stutter. Other times it would be multiple stutters. And other times it would act like it died even though it didn't and then come back about three seconds later after almost getting rear ended. There were not codes until I got home and got my scanner out. When I turned it on there was a check engine light with code P0107. The local autozone didn't have a map sensor so I got spark plugs and coils instead. That didn't fix it but it was due for a tune up any way. Went to Amazon and ordered a new MAP sensor for $30 less than Autozone would have gotten it to me and got free two day shipping since I am a prime member. Well, I started with the sensor below the fuel rail instead of above the radiator because I figured it was that one and it fixed the issue.


This is just an FYI incase anybody else has this problem.
