Has anyone changed the stock stereo to a new one ? and it not look "ghetto" .
anyone have any pictures of how it looks afterwards?

 

The stereo upgrade is mostly for the quality of sound and not for the looks . Seriously if you arent going to upgrade the whole system including the installation of amplifiers,crossovers,speakers then a new head unit alone is just for looks doesnt matter what kind/brand it is.It will not change much at all on the quality.In my experience with this car the replacement of the OEM speakers did what I was looking for.These days I dont actually use the HU for nothing else but to connect my MP3 player to it and with the upgraded speakers this HU is good enough to deliver.

 

It is kind of a slippery slope. The factory speakers are pretty poor in these cars. An upgrade will really improve things. However, if you get nice speakers, you want to provide them clean power which means an amp. At that point the HU is the weak link.
