Default 2001 S40 Wipers

Hi Folks,

I recently purchased a used 2001 S40 and am loving it! The only issue I seem to be having is my wiper blades. I purchased some RainX wipers from my local Walmart and they do not seem to fit properly. The lengths are fine, but the wipers do not 'click' in to the hangars on the car.

Am I supposed to use an adapter? Right now I have them just resting on the car, and although this seems to be working fine, I get worried that they may fly off.

Hope someone can help me out!

Thanks

Should they not have what is called 'J' hook type connections to the wiper arms?
If you have purchased the right type of 'RainX' wiper blades they should simply click into place.
You need to have them fitted properly ASAP as you risk badly scratching your windscreen if they dislodge and blow off while operating.

Okay a 'J hook'. I am sure that's what I have, but I did a quick online search and there see.s to be two versions. A small and large. Maybe its a large I need?

Your right. I do recall also reading of both large and small J hook types.
I was under the impression that the small ones were correct for the S40 / V40's.

Some wipers come with an adapter already in place to accept one size or the other of J hooks. Can you see anything on the blade that looks like you could remove it? Or maybe the packaging came with an adapter that you need to install?

Just return the Walmart ones and buy a set from O'Reilly's, they will gladly help you install them.
