Hi,
I've a 2001 Volvo S40 1.9T and wiper is a problem. First of all the intermittent setting doesn't work at all. Mist, low and high speed are working but wipers don't park when turning off and the wipers stay wherever they turned off.

It's not the motor since I've changed it and it's still the same issue.

I'm supecting either the switch itself or maybe a relay that controls it is defective. Does the computer have any control on wiper in this car?
I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

 

This is the first I've heard of anyone with a wiper issue. Here is a bump for any info.

 

I have seen this problem and more than likely it is the CEM.

So to answer your question, yes, the computer controls the wipers. (the most expensive one too)
