Default 2002 S40 - Wire Set - Replace?

Does the wire set (wires for the sparkplugs) need replacing every so often? (like with the old spark plug cables)

If they have not been done on your 2002 model or are not sure, I would replace them next time you do plugs.

The wires on the early S40's were no good. Look at it and see if the rubber is flaking off next time. When it is, replace with ipd performance wires.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't even sure they needed replacing, ever. They're not anything like plug cables, so I had no idea.

The technical terms for these parts are "ignition wire set" and "ignition coil". I have to admit, I don't associate these parts with the word "ignition" but rather with "distributor" - although I don't think that this car has a distributor.

Anyway, thanks again.
