My volvo has 75,000 miles and i have been noticing between 2nd and 3rd , and sometimes 1st and 2nd , the shifts have been jerky and not smooth , especially for an automatic.

Also I have a bad motor mount on the right side , can that cause the hard shifts and the check engine light to come on ?

The motor mount can effect shifting. Also, might consider a trans fluid flush if you haven't done so. It helped my '02 S40.

i got it flushed at the used car place i bought it at .... maybe they used the wrong fluid ? ,,, im getting my mount changed soon so hopefully it helps

 

Ooooh, I hope not. It does take a special synthetic fluid.
