Default tranny shifts hard

well i picked up the 850 turbo last night, its an awsome car. The only thing that is concerning me is the tranny.... it shifts hard. when it shifts it sort of "slams" the next gear. think it just needs some fluid? tranny fluid flush? anything else?

thanks guys
bill

Check the fluid level and color. If it isn't red change it and see if it helps.

If you know of someone honest in the transmission business -- not a common commodity -- have them look at it. It may need service and maintenance as well as just topping off the fluids. ATs do need periodic maintenance, and finding problems early can save a $2000+ repair.

Are you 100% sure the turbo is bad?

If the hose is torn that will not give you boost.

Replace the hose and see what happens.

You will always have a slight bit of oil in the intercooler hoses.
If you look closely on the bottom of the intercooler there is a small hole drilled in there to allow the oil to drain on its own.

The 2 big signs of a bad turbo are 1.Car smokes bad at idle. 2. There is no boost at all with all hoses good.

Check out in the General section I made a post with links to sites. You should be able to search those sites and find what you are looking for.

Personally, I think that's part of the nature of these transmissions...
