2003 S40 Do I have a turbo or not?
I have a 2003 s40 and I don’t know if it has a turbo, turbocharger, or just nothing at all. (I feel really dumb asking this.) When I bought the car it didn’t have any badges. It also didn’t come with a stock spoiler ( I don’t know if that helps). The engine is a B4204T. I will attach a video to see if that helps. I was looking around and some people said that all s40s from 2000-2004.5 had turbos but others said that it wasn’t true.

Decoding the B4204T = B means its a gasoline engine ("bensin"), the next digit is the number of cylinders (4), the next two are the engine's displacement (2.0L) and the next is the valves per cylinder (4). Finally the T means its a turbo. Some engine codes have digits after that which represent the engine's generation.
As a side note the engine code for the 2004.5+ Volvo S40i model is a B5244S4 meaning its a gas, five cylinder 2.4L, four valve per cylinder, standard (naturally aspirated) fourth generation engine. the T5s would show a T in the engine code...
