2004.5 S40 2.4i Crazy Electrical Issues
So while already dealing with a bad starter motor some really strange electrical problems started to surface. There are tons of different symptoms which I'll start listing below...
-Wipers randomly started going, keys not even in.
-Cd changer on radio going with keys in, can also hear clicking coming from trunk area.
-Fuel gauge sweeping back and forth, display flashing various messages, lights flashing on and off on console.
-Radio sometimes turns on when I put key in, sometimes does not.
-Clicking sound coming from top left of passenger side fuse box. Constant while key is in "1" position. Clicking picks up pace when glove box is opened.
-Electrical issues seemingly dissipate when a jump-pack was connected, but as soon as it's taken off, issues start up.
-Trying to start without jump-pack kills power completely. Need to connect jump-pack to even get key out afterwards.
-Battery pushing 12.4V, 14V+ on crank.
-Mechanic said he doesn't think it has to do anything with alternator.
-I have had an issue with water leakage, leading him to think some may have gotten into a fuse box.
Any suggestions, literally any, would be appreciated. I'm at such a loss with this issue. Saw some posts about CEM which I am hoping it is not, but with such a variety of symptoms I'm not sure what to believe.
Thanks

I'd start by removing the battery cables and cleaning the ends and the battery posts then securing them to the battery. Then I might try a different battery just to make sure it wasn't an internal battery issue. If it continues then I'd start by wigging wire connectors and bundles to see if I could make it act up when moving a specific wire or bundle.
