Default 2004.5 S40 Electrical Issues

Hello, I have the new model s40 and have been experiencing some weird issues. Right now I have my car in the shop to have them diagnosed. The prominent issue is with my exterior lighting. The back right taillight, the license plate lights and one of the running lights are out. The fuses and bulbs are in operating condition, but apparently there is still no power coming to the bulbs. I'm hoping this isn't too serious and any help would be appreciated.

First check all the fuses, not just the ones related to lighting. I had a weird interior light issue that turned out to be a blown fuse for a completely unrelated system.

Now our cars have a Central Electronic Module, CEM. This module has various resistors and other electronic magic that mere mortals like me cannot understand. I do know this module to be the source of various electrical gremlins such as the problem where one low beam does not work. If you have checked all the usual suspects and still cannot find the problem I would suspect the CEM.

Thanks for the help Hudini, you made it sound simple. Fortunately, the lighting problems were fixed at the shop. It turned out to be some frayed wiring near the CEM and was around $200 for the diagnosis/repair.
